Harry Maguire looks increasingly likely to sign a new contract with Manchester United after restoring his place under interim manager Michael Carrick. His current deal expires in the summer, but he has impressed recently, forming an effective centre-back partnership with Lisandro Martínez and earning a route back into the team following Matthijs de Ligt's injury.

The 32-year-old earns £180,000 a week and joined United from Leicester in 2019 for £80 million. He has made 260 appearances for the club, made 40 appearances last season scoring four goals, and was part of the sides that won the 2022–23 Carabao Cup and the 2023–24 FA Cup.

It is hoped a compromise can be reached on both wages and the length of any new deal. Maguire is already free to discuss moves with clubs around Europe, with AC Milan and Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah among those thought to have shown interest.
