HBO Max's How to Survive Without Me Adds Joshua Jackson, Evokes The Bear
HBO Max’s How to Survive Without Me, a new series from Greg Berlanti and Bash Doran about the De Angelis family reuniting after their matriarch’s death, was announced with Ray Romano attached to star.
Collider reports that Joshua Jackson has joined the cast as Cooper, a chef preparing to open a members-only dining club in Los Angeles using his mother’s famous recipes; outwardly he appears to have his life together but is hiding a secret that could upend his life and those around him.
Jackson and Berlanti previously worked together on Dawson’s Creek, a connection noted amid casting news, and the series is already drawing comparisons to The Bear for its focus on complicated family drama.
The show’s release date is not yet clear, and Collider noted other offerings currently on HBO Max, including A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and the sophomore season of The Pitt.
