Henry Cavill’s In the Grey Deserves More Attention
Guy Ritchie's upcoming action thriller In the Grey, due April 10, 2026, brings together Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill as leaders of a team of "elite global operatives," with Eiza González and Rosamund Pike among the supporting cast. The trailer leans into Ritchie's familiar blend of swaggering characters, high-octane action and biting comedy.
The film's path to release has been uneven: production proceeded under an agreement during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, it was originally slated for a January 2025 release from Lionsgate, and Lionsgate later pulled the date as post-production lagged. Black Bear Pictures will now distribute the movie independently.
Cavill, Gyllenhaal and González bring proven charisma and action experience, and Cavill reunites with Ritchie after roles in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, both of which developed minor cult followings despite box-office struggles.
