Henry Cavill will play King Alfur in Amazon MGM Studios’ live-action remake of the 1980s sci-fi series Voltron. The story centers on a group of teenagers who pilot giant robotic lions to fight an intergalactic war. Sterling K. Brown stars as Zarkon, with Rita Ora set to play the villain Witch Haggar.

Todd Lieberman, founder of Hidden Pictures, says the adaptation will be released in 2027. Rawson Marshall Thurber is directing, and newcomer Daniel Quinn-Toye will headline as a young boy who comes into possession of one of the five Robot Lions. The rest of the cast includes John Harlan Kim, Alba Baptista, Samson Kayo, Tharanya Tharan, Laura Gordon, Tim Griffin and Nathan Jones.
