Henry Cavill Tightens Script and Lore Control on Warhammer 40k Series

Henry Cavill, a longtime fan of Warhammer 40k, is set to lead a live-action adaptation and serves as an executive producer. He has been working tirelessly to refine the scripts and has undertaken what has been described as “lore audits,” personally reviewing “more than 300 individual lines of dialogue, terminology, and world-building detail.” He is overseeing everything from scripts to costumes, verifying Space Marine chapter armor color schemes, cross-checking Imperial iconography, and ensuring the correct pronunciation of notoriously dense High Gothic terms like Adeptus Astartes.

The actor is reportedly doing everything he can to ensure that “nothing slips through.” Following The Witcher fallout, which saw Cavill suddenly walk away from the Netflix fantasy series after three seasons and be replaced by Liam Hemsworth, reports circulated that part of the reason for the actor’s departure was production not paying close enough attention to the source material.
