Heroes of Science and Fiction exits Steam Early Access with multiplayer
Heroes of Science and Fiction has left Steam Early Access after eighteen months and reached version 1.0 earlier this week. The release update adds a fourth campaign that wraps up the overarching story, a new planet type to theme maps, seven new buildings, improved AI behaviours, and achievements. Most notably, multiplayer is now available online, via LAN, local hot seat, or Steam Remote Play.
The game features five factions, including cybernetic moles and religious insects. Each faction has seven unit types, a unique ability and several commanders to choose from. Four factions have their own campaigns, and all can be used across dozens of skirmish maps.
To mark the launch, developer Oxymoron Games has discounted the game by 40% for the next couple of weeks, bringing the price to $15 (£12.50). Oxymoron says the game is technically finished but plans smaller post-launch updates and future DLC.
