High Potential has four episodes left in its second season and has already been renewed for Season 3. The show has kept its case-of-the-week format while developing several ongoing threads that appear likely to carry over. Lieutenant Soto was unfairly passed over for a promotion and Captain Wagner still holds a position he didn’t earn.

Karadec is moving forward with Lucia while clear feelings continue to build between him and Morgan. Above all, the mystery of what happened to Roman Sinquerra has hovered over the season. Viewers learned Roman is alive and that his disappearance coincided with the murder of FBI agent Lila Flynn, for whom Roman had been an informant.

This season revealed Roman was abducted by Eric Hayworth, who appeared in photos from Roman’s backpack, and that Hayworth had been hired by Willa Quinn; the reason why remains unknown. Roman’s introduction should arrive by the end of Season 2, but his storyline has the scope to continue into Season 3.
