Forty years after the 1986 film, the original script that launched the Highlander franchise is being adapted into a graphic novel by Titan Comics. Gregory Widen wrote and sold the script while an undergraduate film student at UCLA, and his early version of the story is now being presented in comic form.

The 1986 Highlander introduced Connor MacLeod, an immortal who must face other immortals in a deadly contest for the mysterious "The Prize." The film starred Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, Sean Connery as mentor Juan Sánchez-Villalobos Ramírez, and Clancy Brown as the villainous The Kurgan, and it spawned sequels, spin-offs, novels, comics, video games and more.
