Hilary Duff returned to television on March 9 for her first TV appearance in ten years, performing "Roommates" and talking Lizzie McGuire. She used the Tonight Show stop to give viewers a long-awaited update on her family life. Duff described life with husband Matthew Koma as "chaotic as ever, but the best." She and Koma share four children: Duff welcomed her first son, Luca, in 2012 with then-husband Mike Comrie, and after Duff and Koma married in 2019 they welcomed three more—daughters Banks in October 2018 and Mae in March 2021, and son Townes in May 2024.

The kids run daytime TV in the house, with Bluey a staple. Music often sets the tone at home. Koma is an established singer-songwriter, the children have shown they "can really get down," and the parents race to control the speakers.
