Hit zombies with meat in medieval survival sim God Save Birmingham
God Save Birmingham is a singleplayer medieval survival and crafting sim that now lets players use a big haunch of meat as a weapon. The game’s slack-skinned peasantry give it a distinctly English look, and food can double as a means of revenge against the undead.
The latest trailer shows a guidance system for tracking stamina, hunger, injuries and goals, alongside systems for durability, sharpening and barricade-building. You can install doors and latches, and health and hygiene have been tweaked so characters can dunk their heads in a horse trough to get clean when they aren’t eating pottage and killing zombies.
Developers aim for a fairly historically accurate recreation of 14th century Birmingham, if you disregard the zombie infestation. The trailer even winks at local lore with a mention of the infamous Birmingham Piss Troll. Two alpha tests are scheduled: an existing-tester session from February 19 to February 23, and an open test from February 26 to March 2.
