Hoppers hides a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment that directly plays into the long-running Pixar Theory — the fan idea that all Pixar films are connected in one timeline. Pixar animators have peppered their movies with more than 100 Easter eggs over the years, from Pizza Planet nods to recurring A113 references, and those details have often been treated as playful in-jokes rather than literal worldbuilding.

The gag appears late in the film after much of the plot is resolved. Hoppers follows 19-year-old environmental advocate Mabel, who transfers her mind into a robot beaver using a process called “Hopping,” developed by her college researcher Dr. Sam. During a visit to Dr.

Sam’s lab, the scientist briefly pulls down a chalkboard covered in sketches and notes — a shot that’s on screen for only a second.
