They've worked together for the last 15 years, first in a corporate setting and now running a small consulting business and an eco-organic farm. Though clients know they are married, the couple makes a point of keeping work and personal life separate and says staying connected takes effort.

The first time they shared a workplace, they kept the marriage out of it. He worked in IT, a behind-the-scenes role focused on keeping systems running, while she served as an executive assistant for a new health-economics team and managed visible projects across departments.

They avoided using their relationship for advantage and preferred to be known as individuals at work. Today they run Mayani Farms and consult on sustainable tropical agriculture. Their skills complement one another: she manages marketing, project management, and administration, while he brings farming experience and serves as consultant and designer.
