Eric Dane reflected on how he wanted his daughters to remember him in an interview for Netflix’s "Famous Last Words," which premiered just hours after his death at 53 from ALS. He said his teenage daughters would recall him as "pretty tough," and added, "They would say I was loving and I was really endearing and compassionate and empathetic and trustworthy.

I'm a good dad." Dane emphasised the importance of "showing up" for his children, noting he attended Georgia’s beach volleyball games and all of Billie’s ballet recitals. He joked about sitting through many Nutcrackers — "there’s a couple pieces in there that are beautiful but Jesus, that thing drones on, man" — and remembered a family trip to France when "my French accent was spot on," saying he loved making them laugh.

He described his relationship with Rebecca Gayheart as one of deep affection despite no longer living together: "We still love each other deeply.
