How I Shop with Patrick Grant — ‘I never get anything new delivered’
Patrick Grant is an outspoken advocate for radical change in the fashion industry. His Community Clothing brand supports local clothing and textile manufacturers across the UK, and he is a regular on TV and radio, best known for his role on The Great British Sewing Bee.
His book Less was published in May 2024 and became a Sunday Times bestseller. His most recent treat was a bar of handmade almond nougat. For everyday groceries he buys bread from Ambry Bakery, cheese from Courtyard Dairy and milk from Lawkland Hall Farm, all in Austwick; the rest he gets from Booths in Settle.
He says he never gets anything new delivered, does not use Amazon, and the only deliveries he would consider are from eBay. Grant’s favourite online shop is Niwaki for garden tools, while Hatchards on Piccadilly is his preferred bricks-and-mortar store. At home he uses a Bialetti stove-top espresso maker daily and a Niwaki pruning saw when needed; he grinds Locomotion blend beans in a 30-year-old Krups 50 grinder and froths milk by hand with a balloon whisk.
