The Voice returns for Season 29 as The Voice: Battle of Champions, featuring a trio of veteran coaches — Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend — and an action-packed two-hour premiere on Monday, February 23 at 9/8c. Coaches have already promised fierce competition: “It truly is a battle of the champions,” Levine said, while Legend called this season “definitely the most competitive.” Every episode of Season 29 runs two hours.

After the two-hour premiere, new two-hour episodes will air Monday nights at the same time, and each episode will be available to stream the day after it airs. The season progresses through the Blind Auditions, then the Battles (Artists sing the same song), the Knockouts (Artists sing individually), the Semi-Finals and the Finale, with the remaining Artists performing before the winner is revealed.

New rules and an All-Star competition during the Knockouts are among the changes that aim to keep the format fresh. Behind the scenes, Levine reflected on how the show has evolved.
