How Many People Are on Team USA's 2026 Winter Olympics Team?

Italy welcomed the world to the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympic Winter Games with a creative and stately Opening Ceremony at Milan’s historic San Siro Stadium and, for the first time, satellite event locations in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Predazzo, and Livigno. A favorite portion was the Parade of Nations, where most of the participating athletes walk into the stadium behind the individual flag representing their delegation or country.

Team USA arrived with its largest-ever Winter Olympic roster: 232 athletes approved by eight of Team USA’s National Governing Bodies. The delegation includes 98 returning Olympians, 18 returning Olympic champions who have won a combined 22 gold medals, seven athletes competing in their fifth Olympic Winter Games, and four sets of siblings.

The youngest athlete is 15-year-old Abby Winterberger, competing in Women's Freeski Halfpipe. “Getting that call was probably the highlight of my life,” Winterberger said about learning she qualified for the Games. “It was really crazy, really surreal.
