How to complete Introducing NuCaloric in Marathon

You'll want to complete the Introducing: NuCaloric contract as soon as you can in Marathon. This faction is all about consumables and offers upgrades that grant free Patch Kits and Shield Rechargers daily — the actual products that fully heal you. The quest sends you into a Tick-infested building on the Perimeter map to retrieve the NuCal Employee ID.

Start on the Perimeter map and bring plenty of ammo, since you'll need to kill a fair few Ticks and destroy nests; you may also bump into other players even when solo. Head to the Columns area in the south, between the South Relay and Overflow. The single one-story building there is marked with 02, a scrawled orange Tick symbol, brown gunk, and three Tick nests.

The door won't open, so climb the outside ladder and use your knife to smash the vent cover on the roof, then drop into the storeroom; looking through the window you’ll see more Ticks and nests inside. Open the door and clear the two nests in the next room, using your knife if you run out of ammo.
