How to complete Tox Clear events in Marathon

Tox Clear events are loot rooms filled with toxic gas that damages you on entry, so your goal is to make the room breathable. These encounters rarely require combat and instead revolve around disabling the hazard. The intended method is to use a Hazard Override Card and interact with the red laptop hidden near the room to temporarily drain the gas.

The laptop can spawn just outside the building or slightly further away, but it will always be within the area around the Tox Clear event. Hazard Override Cards resemble Lockbox Keys and are a rare loot drop, so it’s wise to have one saved in your inventory since you might not find one during a match.

If you lack a Hazard Override Card, you can still access the loot. Use a Mechanic's Kit consumable for short toxin immunity, or play as—or with—a Triage shell and deploy a healing drone to offset the gas damage.
