How to fish in Crimson Desert

Spending time fishing in Crimson Desert is the kind of outside activity Kliff needs to relax before invading another camp or beating down some bandits. Fish can be tricky to collect, requiring a steady rhythm of reeling and resting, but Kliff and the Greymanes stand to gain a lot from them.

If you want to become a master angler you first need to learn how to fish and where to buy a fishing rod; if you only want some fish, you can visit the fishing vendor instead. All you need to start fishing is a fishing rod. You don’t need bait or to unlock the system through quests, and most bodies of natural water with enough depth will do.

Equip the rod and press L2/LT on a controller or Q on the keyboard to check for fishing spots. A glowing bait icon will appear on the surface; if it’s blue you can throw your lure and begin. After casting, wait a few seconds for a sound that signals something has entered the water.
