How to kill Helldivers 2 Veracitors and Gatekeepers

Veracitors and Gatekeepers are new Illuminate additions found in the Appropriators sub-faction: massive squid mechs that mix Overseers and drone swarms. Both can be taken down the same way—first destroy the blue shield protecting the pilot who hangs under the mech, then shoot the exposed pilot, which causes the mech to collapse.

Fire weapons such as the Flamethrower, Torcher, Stoker SMG underbarrel flamethrower, and the Cremator are especially effective because they seem to bypass the shield and quickly kill the pilot; the Stoker and Cremator are in the Entrenched Division Warbond. Most conventional guns can also damage the shield and pilot, and many stratagems, including orbital lasers, will destroy these mechs.

The Veracitor is the melee variant with long arms and huge claws but relatively weak armor for its size. Medium-armor-penetration weapons work well anywhere on the body, and you can permanently disable its shield by shooting the glowing eyes above the pilot.
