How to open the New Sanctuary vault in Fortnite

Working out how to open the New Sanctuary vault in Fortnite has left many players stuck. The triangular base deep within the New Sanctuary was a great place for rare loot last season, but Season 2 of Chapter 7 removed the method that previously unlocked the door.

The vault sits in the New Sanctuary POI to the southeast of the island. Enter the huge triangular Seven base through one of the blast doors, descend to the bottom level via the ascenders and stairs, then head to the north point of the triangle to find a large blue vault door.

Last season a big red button opened the vault, but that button has been removed in Season 2. You can hear the sound of Epic Chests behind the door, suggesting the loot remains, yet there is currently no known way to access it. The final Act I Showdown reward for Team Foundation is a Seven Compound Vault Key, and many expect that unlocking this item will allow the vault to be opened.
