How to slot Abyss Gears in Crimson Desert

You begin finding Abyss Gears after completing Sealed Abyss Artifact challenges, and some weapons already come with them fitted, such as the Sword of the Lord from Hornsplitter. However, those gears remain unusable until a later point in the story. Unlocking the Witch's Lair vendor in Chapter 3 lets you access the feature.

During the chapter you start the Witch of Wisdom faction quest, travel to the Witchwoods to rescue a young woman, and are then invited to her house, where witches offer services for Abyss Gears. Witches allow you to pay to add core slots to weapons and armour, remove and add Abyss Gears from gear, and craft Abyss Gears using any recipes you’ve found.

Because gears can be extracted, you can take effects like Wind Slash from the Sword of the Lord or removals from the Reed Devil’s gauntlets and move them onto the equipment you actually use. You can slot, extract, and craft cores at the Witch's Lair vendor, but be cautious when selling Contribution gear with Abyss Cores still slotted to the Contribution Shop.
