Coventry come into the game on a five-match winning run, with Saturday’s trip to Bristol City settled by first-half goals from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and top scorer Haji Wright. Frank Lampard’s side have been particularly strong at home, but they will be without Joel Latibeaudiere after his red card and remain short at the back with goalkeeper Oliver Dovin (knee) and full-back Miguel Brau (muscle) sidelined.

Preston’s early-season promise has faded, with just one win in 10 and a drop to 13th following Friday’s defeat at Deepdale, despite Milutin Osmajic finding the net. Daniel Iversen is out with a groin problem and Callum Lang, taken off at the break against Oxford, looks unlikely to start.
