LA Galaxy dominated the first leg with a 3-0 victory, Gabriel Pec scoring a hat-trick. Mount Pleasant were badly affected by visa issues, forced to field a depleted side after ten first-team regulars were denied US visas, including Johnson Jeudy, Clifford Thomas and Raphael Intervil.

The Jamaican side have since beaten Molynes United 2-0, while Galaxy have managed just one win from four MLS games and recently lost 2-1 to Sporting Kansas City.
