Google and Walmart have been assisting authorities in the search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of "Today" host Savannah Guthrie, who investigators believe was abducted from her ranch-style home in the Catalina Foothills outside Tucson nearly three weeks ago.

A major break came when investigators, working with private-sector partners, recovered footage from Guthrie's Nest doorbell even though she did not have a subscription to store video. FBI Director Kash Patel said the images were recovered from "residual data located in backend systems," and the FBI released footage on February 10 showing a masked, armed man tampering with the camera on February 1.

Google engineers took several days to recover the clip, CNN reported. Authorities also tied the suspect's backpack seen in the video to a 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker pack sold exclusively at Walmart.
