Hugh Jackman’s 2004 Van Helsing, directed by Stephen Sommers, is now available to stream for free on Tubi. The film was a modern reimagining of classic horror elements, turned a small profit but received mixed reviews—24% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and a 57% audience score.

Jackman stars as a monster hunter employed by the Knights of the Holy Order, sent to Transylvania to protect the last of the Valerious bloodline and confront Count Dracula. Kate Beckinsale and Richard Roxburgh also appear, with Roxburgh’s performance described as theatrical and over the top.

The movie assembles a roster of familiar creatures, including Frankenstein’s monster, werewolves, vampire brides, zombie minions and even Mr. Hyde, placing them on a new timeline that ignores the films of the 1930s and ’40s. At a little over two hours, it leans into action and CGI while adopting a swashbuckling, Gothic tone.
