I switched to a Wi‑Fi 7 mesh router at home - it was overkill in the best way

After moving from a one‑bedroom apartment to a three‑story condo, my old Wi‑Fi setup couldn't cover every floor. A previous mesh system, the TP‑Link Deco BE25, improved coverage, so I tested the newer TP‑Link Deco BE77 to see how much further things could go. The BE77 proved superior in nearly every respect, positioning itself as a premium choice for large homes, households with many devices, or anyone who wants the most reliable wireless connection available.

The BE77 nodes are tall cylinders (7.80 x 4.65 x 4.65 inches) finished in bright white with a stylized "7" on the front and a multicolor LED ring for status—solid green for a stable link, pulsing red for a lost connection. Ventilation sits on top because the units can run warm, so placement in a well‑ventilated spot is sensible.

Around the back, each node offers three Ethernet ports: a 1Gbps port, a 2.5Gbps port for gaming or NAS, and a 10Gbps RJ45/SFP+ combo suitable for advanced home or small business setups.
