Tecno brought two concepts to MWC: a tri-fold phone that I couldn’t fully test because a security device prevented it from closing on the showroom floor, and a magnetic modular phone that drew most of my attention. The modular handset has an iPhone Air vibe—very thin, with magnets and pogo pins on the back to attach modules—but the magnets felt too weak and the modules wobble.

Tecno didn’t share a spec sheet, though I could see it uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8350, 256GB of storage, 12 GB of RAM and a 3,000 mAh battery. Battery modules are also 3,000 mAh each and stackable, with three shown for a total of 12,000 mAh. Modules ranged from a wallet mod to camera attachments and accessories.

The wallet felt unsafe given the magnetic strength. One camera adds a 3x optical telephoto but produced inverted images, and there was no ultrawide module. A 100x optical telephoto required a Wi‑Fi link to the phone and showed noticeable lag on the show floor.
