I went on a weekend retreat with women of all ages; learned about life
I spent a weekend at All Booked, a reading retreat in New York State's Catskill Mountains, where eight women spanning their 20s to late 60s bonded over books, a guided meditation, and a hike. The intergenerational group’s conversations ran beyond the featured memoir and left me feeling inspired by our shared connection.
Tucked among 12 wooded acres in Windham, the luxury log cabin had pine beams, stone floors, a dramatic great room, and cozy reading nooks. We met our host Suzanne, a former New York City journalist, and introduced ourselves over an Indian-inspired dinner of delicata-squash salad and curry-marinated chicken, a nod to Arundhati Roy.
After a loft meditation and a night in cozy log beds, we continued introductions over blueberry scones and homemade granola the next morning. After quiet reading time, we gathered on the Windham Path for forest bathing led by Beth, a certified forest therapy guide.
