An Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent shot and killed a 37-year-old woman on a Minneapolis street on Wednesday, Independent.co reported. The City of Minneapolis said the fatal shooting occurred at 34th Street and Portland Avenue, where numerous immigration officers were present after a recent influx of federal agents.

Video shared with local media shows masked officers approaching a red car stopped on an icy road, an officer telling the driver to “get out of the f***ing car,” the driver backing up and beginning to drive away, and an officer who had stood in front of the vehicle firing several shots before the car crashed into another vehicle a short distance away.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said the woman was white and middle-aged, later identified as 37, and that there was no indication she was the subject of an immigration enforcement investigation; she was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. Officials offered sharply conflicting accounts.
