IGF 2026 Winners Spotlight Exceptional Indie Games
The Independent Games Festival Awards again highlighted a strong crop of indie games, with finalists and winners revealing many titles worth buying or wishlisting. I was a first‑round judge this year, playing hundreds of submissions and helping bring lesser‑known games to the surface.
Top winners included Titanium Court, which took the Seumas McNally Grand Prize, Perfect Tides: Station to Station for Excellence in Narrative, Baby Steps for Excellence in Audio, and Eclipsium for Excellence in Visual Arts. Other notable winners were Wednesdays (Audience Award), Poco (Best Student Game) and HORSES (Nuovo Award).
Titanium Court proved a striking choice: a strange strategic RPG deckbuilding puzzle with astonishing animations, stunning music and a surreal narrative. The build submitted felt remarkably complete even though the game is not yet on sale and has no release date.
