India is hosting a four-day AI Impact Summit this week aimed at attracting AI investment. The event expects 250,000 visitors and brings executives from OpenAI, Anthropic, Nvidia, Microsoft, Google and Cloudflare, alongside heads of state. Attendees named for the summit include Sundar Pichai, Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, Mukesh Ambani and Demis Hassabis.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to speak with French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday. The government has earmarked $1.1 billion for a state-backed venture capital fund to invest in AI and advanced manufacturing startups. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said India has more than 100 million weekly active ChatGPT users, second only to the U.S., and that Indians account for the most students using ChatGPT.

Blackstone took a majority stake in Indian AI startup Neysa as part of a $600 million equity fundraise; the company plans to raise another $600 million in debt and deploy more than 20,000 GPUs. Bengaluru-based C2i raised $15 million in a Series A round.
