Indie Games Shift Release Dates Around Slay the Spire 2 Launch
Mega Crit announced Slay the Spire 2 will launch on March 5, and the timing has prompted several smaller studios to rethink their release plans. Handmancers, a roguelike deckbuilder from 58BLADES, pulled its launch from the Turn‑Based Thursday Fest that begins March 6, saying, “Yea…we’d get absolutely crushed.” Mini Tank Mayhem’s developer has not confirmed the reason for a sudden delay, though a Reddit tester blamed Slay the Spire 2 and SteamDB shows the title’s March 3 date moved to late April hours after the new trailer.
Omelet You Cook’s two‑person team moved its 1.0 launch forward in January to avoid being overshadowed, with co‑developer Dan Schumacher saying, “Every streamer we’d reach out to will be playing it. Every roguelike enjoyer will be checking it out. Even I’ll be playing so much that I won’t have time to finish our game!” Trials of Valor, which shares some elements with Slay the Spire, will also arrive on March 5.
