Infini exploiter resurfaces to buy ETH dip for $13M
A wallet tied to the Infini exploit resurfaced after more than 200 days of inactivity, purchasing 6,316 ETH—about $13.32 million—during a recent price dip and then routing funds through Tornado Cash, on-chain data and blockchain security firms show. Lookonchain flagged that the exploiter bought the ETH at an average price of $2,109 roughly eight hours before transfers were detected.
Shortly after the purchase the wallet consolidated holdings and sent a total of 15,470 ETH, worth about $32.6 million, to Tornado Cash. On-chain records point to a recurring pattern of buying near local lows and selling near cycle highs. Past activity includes the February 2025 Infini theft of $49.5 million in USDC, conversion into 17,696 ETH at $2,798, a July 2025 transfer of 5,000 ETH to Tornado Cash with 1,770 ETH sold for $5.88 million at $3,322, and an August 2025 sale of 1,771 ETH at $4,202; the February 2026 purchases preceded the latest Tornado Cash deposits.
