Intel has begun rolling out a cloud-based precompiled shader service for Arc GPUs that is separate from Microsoft’s Advanced Shader Delivery. The company says Intel Precompiled Shaders is custom built and run by Intel, and it will continue working with Microsoft on Advanced Shader Delivery later in the year.

Together, both services aim to give users of supported Arc GPUs broader coverage of technologies that reduce waiting times and in‑game stutters caused by shader compilation. Branded as the Intel Precompiled Shaders Distribution Service or Intel Graphics Shader Distribution Service, the feature can improve first load times up to 2x on Intel Arc B-series GPUs, Intel Core Ultra Series 3, and Series 2 with built‑in Intel Arc GPUs.

When a supported game is detected, Intel delivers pre‑compiled shader files from its cloud, optimized for the user’s specific hardware and drive configuration, and caches them locally.
