Inter Miami player ratings: Messi and De Paul deliver in 2-1 win
Inter Miami held on for a 2-1 win over D.C. United at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium, earning their second victory of the season in front of more than 70,000 fans.
Rodrigo de Paul opened the scoring in the 17th minute and, about ten minutes later, Lionel Messi doubled the lead with a chip after a fine Matteo Silvetti assist. D.C. United pulled one back in the 75th minute and pressed late, but Miami managed to see out the victory.
GOAL's ratings highlighted Yannick Bright and Rodrigo de Paul as the top performers with 8/10. Several players, including Messi, Noah Allen, Maxi Falcon, Silvetti and manager Javier Mascherano, received 7s; a number of others were graded 6, while goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair and Facundo Mora were given 5/10.
It was not Miami's best display, but the result provides a win to build on and gives the club points to take from Baltimore.
