Invincible showrunners promise surprises and strong emotions in Season 4
Season 3 of Invincible closed on a high note: the finale was, at the time of the interview, the seventh-highest rated television episode of all time. Mark/Invincible (Steven Yeun) defeated Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Eve (Gillian Jacobs) reached her full potential, and a credit scene was left open to interpretation.
Co-showrunners Robert Kirkman and Simon Racioppa say Season 4 will "have so much cooler stuff" and aim to shock viewers with an emotional roller coaster that ranges from loss to love to surprise. They described a writers' room intent on keeping the audience off balance, grounding big moments in how characters like Mark and Debbie would actually feel, and welcomed new voices including Lee Pace, Danai Gurira and Matthew Rhys.
On the Season 3 credits scene — Damien Darkblood (Clancy Brown) saying he will bring a powerful being from Earth — the showrunners would not confirm it refers to Mark, and said it could be someone else.
