Invincible Season 4: Lee Pace's Grand Regent Thragg Explained
Episode 2, "I'll Give You the Grand Tour," gives viewers their first look at Grand Regent Thragg and provides key backstory on the Viltrumite home world. The show reveals that a virus called Scourge was engineered to kill Viltrumites and decimated their population, and it has long been Thragg who guided the empire from the shadows.
When Thragg is finally shown he appears as an imposing, cloaked figure with a memorable mustache and a resemblance to Freddie Mercury. The series positions him as the strongest of the Viltrumites: trained from birth, far more powerful than Nolan and Mark, and in the comics the central antagonist who ordered Nolan to go to Earth.
Lee Pace provides the voice of Grand Regent Thragg. Pace’s credits include Ronan the Accuser in the MCU, Thranduil in The Hobbit Trilogy, the short-lived series Pushing Daisies, and Brother Day in Foundation, and he can next be seen in Practical Magic 2.
