iPad Air M4 pre-orders live — where to get the best deals

Pre-orders for the iPad Air M4 begin today at 9.15am ET. Best Buy and Apple are already offering early discounts, including up to $670 off with trade-in or $50 off a new device for the former's members, and more retailers may launch their own offers when stock goes live.

Apple has kept the same pricing as the previous generation: $599 for the 128GB 11-inch model and $799 for the 13-inch device. The headline upgrade is the M4 chip, which Apple says delivers up to 30% faster performance than the M3 and includes nine GPU cores for ray tracing, enabling four times faster 3D rendering in comparisons with the M1.

The design is largely unchanged, with a flat-edge form factor and the same four color options. The new Air ships with iPadOS 26, and older iPads will also gain core software features such as the new window systems for multitasking and the command-center 'menu bar'.
