Israel releases footage of strikes on Iranian F-4 and F-5 jets
Israel released video showing strikes on two Iranian fighter jets — an F-5 and an F-4 — at Tabriz airport as they prepared to take off. The footage, published by the Israel Defense Forces, shows direct hits on each aircraft. Both types are US-made and were sold to Iran before the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The strikes came amid large-scale joint US–Israeli operations, dubbed Operation Epic Fury by Washington and Operation Roaring Lion by Israel. The campaigns are intended to eliminate Iranian leadership and prompt regime change in Tehran; the two countries say they've taken out dozens of Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran has responded with multiple phases of missile and drone strikes against Israel and bases hosting US troops across the region, including in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. Washington and Jerusalem have said the operations will continue into the coming weeks.
