Italian dub of JoJo's Golden Wind leans into Neapolitan dialect and crude jokes

Netflix’s new Italian dub of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind has gone viral for leaning hard into regional dialect and risqué humor. Under director Mosè Singh, the cast reshaped dialogue with Neapolitan expressions, added entirely new lines, and injected contemporary internet references and profanity to make the show feel unmistakably Italian.

Some choices are startlingly specific: Abbacchio calls Giorno “facc e cazz” (literally “dickface”), and Giorno describes a piranha Stand as “nu bellu pesc” (“a beautiful fish,” slang for “penis”). Those moments don’t appear in Hiroiko Araki’s work, which uses standard Japanese with occasional Italian words for flavor rather than explicit insults.

Despite that, many viewers are enjoying the result. Clips are being shared widely online and reactions skew positive; the dub’s unexpected humor fits JoJo’s long history of absurd moments and meme-ready beats.
