It's almost a station wagon: The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker, driven
A new pair of EV siblings joins Subaru's lineup, both riding on Toyota’s shared e-TNGA skateboard chassis. The Trailseeker, priced from $39,995, is being built alongside the Forester in Lafayette, Indiana, and leans heavily on Subaru styling cues: plastic cladding, an optional two-tone finish, and a stretched roofline that Subaru says was purposefully extended to fit a full-size dog crate.
The Trailseeker uses a standard dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, offers 281 miles of range from a 74.7 kWh battery, and provides a class-leading 8.5 inches (216 mm) of ground clearance. Curb weight is just shy of 4,400 pounds, and charging is limited to 150 kW, though Subaru emphasizes the area-under-the-curve and battery preconditioning to hold higher charge rates; a claimed 10–80 percent time of 28 minutes did not materialize during the Southern California media drive.
