Jack Osbourne recalls Ozzy Osbourne's calm final hours
Jack Osbourne said on the "Hate to Break it to Ya" podcast that his father’s final day was not dramatic: "He was up, he was doing his thing, had some breakfast, and that was it." He called Ozzy’s death a surprise; the rocker died on July 22, 2025, of a heart attack and had been living with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease.
He was 76. Less than three weeks after his final show with Black Sabbath, Jack recalled a quiet moment while putting his father to bed. Ozzy looked in the mirror while brushing his teeth and said, "I think I’m gonna cut my hair off," adding, "I’ve retired. I’m not a rock star anymore," Jack said.
Jack said Ozzy seemed "OK" with dying when he passed. He previously described learning of his father’s death when a long-time family employee knocked on his Los Angeles door at 3:45 a.m.; "When I looked through my window and I saw it was him, I knew something bad had happened," Jack said.
