Jack Ryan: Ghost War trailer returns John Krasinski to Prime Video
John Krasinski returns as Jack Ryan in the feature-length Jack Ryan: Ghost War, and the first trailer has arrived. Almost three years after the Season 4 finale—when Ryan escaped torture in Myanmar and exposed corruption at the highest levels of the US government—the Amazon Prime Video series is moving to a film format.
Based on Tom Clancy's character, who appears across fourteen novels, the franchise tracks Ryan from former Marine and CIA analyst to field operations officer and acting deputy director, before he quits after uncovering corruption between a US senator and a transnational crime syndicate.
The show does not adapt a single Clancy book, instead favoring a Homeland-style approach that sends its determined lead from country to country to protect the United States. Jack Ryan: Ghost War was directed by Andrew Bernstein, who also helmed three episodes of Season 2 including the finale "Strongman," and written by Aaron Rabin, who worked on much of Season 4, from a story by Krasinski and Noah Oppenheim.
