James Gunn denied recent claims that The Brave and the Bold has been pushed back to 2029 so he can fast-track Robert Pattinson's Batman films through to their conclusion before introducing his own Batman to the DCU. On Threads, Gunn wrote, "I don't know what that is but I'm not fast tracking anything other than our scripts currently getting ready to go into production." Addressing a specific DanielRPK rumor, he added, "That's incorrect.

Well, I mean I don't know if it's incorrect that DPK was told that, but the information is incorrect." The Brave and the Bold is currently expected to arrive in cinemas in 2028, with Andy Muschietti directing and Christina Hodson scripting. The film will introduce a new Batman and mark the return of Robin to live-action on the big screen; early plans suggested Damien Wayne, but the Robin identity remains vague.

Matt Reeves' The Batman Part II has a locked script and is aiming to begin filming in the next few months, with plot details kept under wraps.
