James Gunn Denies DCU Series 'Paradise Lost' Was Canceled
James Gunn rejected suggestions that the long-awaited DCU series Paradise Lost had been scrapped, replying on Threads, "Definitely not." He added, "Jesus I go on Threads for the first time in weeks, and it's just one insanely wrong thing after the other. What is going on?" Paradise Lost was announced in January 2023 as part of the "Chapter One - Gods and Monsters" slate.
Described as a Game of Thrones-like prequel set before Wonder Woman's birth and focused on the Amazons of Themyscira, it has seen little public movement for more than three years while other slate projects such as Superman, Lanterns, Supergirl and Creature Commandos have moved forward; The Brave and the Bold, The Authority and Swamp Thing appear stuck in development.
The character Clayface was later added to the lineup. Gunn often uses social media to correct rumors, unlike Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige, who remains tight-lipped.
