Movieweb reports that James Gunn confirmed on Threads, via DC Film News, that Creature Commandos Season 2 is in production.

Season 1 aired from Dec. 5, 2024, to Jan. 9, 2025 and introduced the DCU, ending with The Bride (Indira Varma) becoming the new leader of Task Force M. The series also features Doctor Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk), Weasel and a rebuilt G.I. Robot (both voiced by Sean Gunn), new characters Nosferata and Khalis, and The Suicide Squad's King Shark. When asked by a fan, Gunn replied, "When we're done animating the new season, which is in production now," and he said Season 2 will pick up after Peacemaker Season 2.

There is no set return date. While some fans hope for late 2026, the report notes Season 2 was confirmed in February 2025 but did not begin production until June 2025, and the long animation process — plus a 23-month window from Season 1's announcement and production start to its airing — means Season 2 might not air until 2027. The new season's placement after Peacemaker Season 2 implies a time jump from Season 1 and raises questions about links to James Gunn's Superman: Man of Tomorrow, potential ties to DC Comics' Salvation arc, and whether the show will help set up the rumored Salvation Run project.
