Jamie Carragher admits he was wrong about Viktor Gyokeres

Jamie Carragher compared Viktor Gyokeres to Alan Shearer after the striker’s brace in the north London derby, a sharp reversal from his earlier view that Gyokeres was not as good as Gabriel Jesus or Kai Havertz. Earlier criticism saw Carragher say, "The one negative out of tonight for Arsenal is that Gyokeres should not be starting, when they have players like this," and add, "He's a better player than Gyokeres - that's a fact." Gyokeres helped himself to a brace in Arsenal's 4-1 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur and now has eight goals in his last 12 games.

Carragher acknowledged the turnaround on Sky Sports: "The thing I like about Viktor Gyokeres is his mentality. I don’t think he’s a world-class striker or an amazing striker for Arsenal for the next five or years. But I absolutely love his mentality.
