Jamie Lee Curtis Says She Joined Halloween Without Knowing It Was a Trilogy
Jamie Lee Curtis has been synonymous with Halloween since the franchise began in 1978. She returned as Laurie Strode in Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022), and took executive producer credits on all three — her first time in the role since 2002's Halloween: Resurrection.
Curtis says she only agreed to come back because of Jason Blum, who brought the series back; she wouldn’t have signed on if she had known in advance it would be a trilogy. After director David Gordon Green mentioned she had committed to three films, Curtis pressed Blum for a small development deal to pay author Russell Goldman, noting Blum’s low‑budget model and that she already “owed him two ‘Halloween’ movies.” Though she has admitted she isn’t a huge horror fan, Curtis appears in nine of the 13 Halloween films made since 1978 and Laurie Strode remains one of her most iconic roles.
