Jared Padalecki announced he has wrapped Guarding Stars, his first feature-length live-action film in more than a decade. The project co-stars Leighton Meester. Directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum and adapted from Katherine Center’s 2022 novel The Bodyguard, the Netflix movie follows a bodyguard (Padalecki) tasked with protecting a popular action star (Meester) over the holiday season.

Padalecki shared an image on Instagram with a caption thanking Calgary: “Hey Calgary. Thank you for letting this annoying Texan come and stay in your town for a hot second. Yall are incredible hosts, and I had an incredible time…. Hope that we all did you proud.

Hope that we can all make it back soon. #GuardingStars #ThatsAWrap. 🙏❤️ (PS. If I may be so bold, maybe a little less snow next time?… It sure was beautiful, but I sure was freezing my b***s off… 😂🤦🏻❤️)” The film marks Padalecki’s return to features after his voice work on the English dub of Phantom Boy and his 2009 appearance in Friday the 13th.
